hey there, having some real trouble with my hj ute. have recently but a gilmer belt on and ever since i did i have had heating problems. have changed the water pump to compensate the smaller pullies. have also put thermo fans on, but still no luck. when i drive the ute the extractors and red hot, dont know why as has never happened before. im really stuck for ideas..... cheers

Do you have a small waterpump pulley on it now?

dont take this the wrong way, but take that piece of **** and put it back the holden made it, or even better a clutch fan and shroud if it did not have one.

Is your problem simply that the extractors are glowing red hot or is the coolant temperature running too high. If so when. Tell us more about what type of engine you have, what mods have been done & more about what the problem actually is.

The smaller water pump pulley makes the water pump spin quicker and causes cavitation, and that means no water flowing. Test it by putting the original pulley back on.

it a 308 pritty stock, has mild cam and rockers. the trans is a turbo 350. the ute overheats after about 15 mins of driving. on the freeway it cools down a bit but when you hit traffic it shoots up to about 3/4.

what sort of ute? ,my hx seems to run 3/4s all the time.dead stock car on historic rego. P.S.....GEAR DRIVE IT AND PUT THE FRONT BACK TO THE WAY IT WAS,JUST MY OPINION.(sorry about the caps).gilmore belt drives are show off crappy things ,again just my opinion.
