Frank thats a great idea , but the problem is virtually nobody knows how to make them properly let alone want to make them properly . There is already 5 people making them around Australia and none of them even come close yet. It will never be possible to get everything as it was 40 years ago for multiple reasons , but they could get much closer to the target .

Making door trims out of seating vinyl for starters is big trouble which they all currently are ,a few of them paint the material (yes go out to the car and check )using the cheap carpet , wrong thickness board , puffed up foam , home made dies etc... then there is no hope . On the other hand i find most customers actually want to get the car done and finished and not wait forever for people to get to making them correct , so they will take the best thing going at the time which i dont blame anyone for . So whats out there they have to live with
The problem is the people making them are telling the customers porky pies , and that they are made from machines that Holden used back then and all sorts of lies .

Its not simple like making a new Guard or bonnet where a die may be super expensive, its still pretty simple, scan the parts , cnc machine the male/female die and stamping /EDP coat them .
A Door trim requires "sheet Plastic"for starters so they weld properly (where are you going to buy that in 2010) in every grain , in every colour for Holden and Ford for each model , then get the right thickness board , then the bonding coating ,each different mylar , the 80/20 carpet in all colous, different woodgrains , the filler weight to bind the carpet, correct dies for each model , a capable welder . Can you see why its a problem Frank .
To get started and initially buy everything and make the first type and colour door trim "properly " alone is about a $50-$100K problem , and then you have to wait and hope all goes to plan , which is normally does not. If you still thinks its a good option to tip your friends into Frank, as they say when about to eat a meal in your country Frank , Buon Appetito Signore !
