vn heads ,cam ,manifold(carb), extractors.how much HP increase if these are the ONLY changes made to an old 308,presuming you start at 240 bhp.

Im thinking without everthing else like stroking etc ,not really worth it because of the high rev range needed to make the heads breathe.

just curious?

Cool question. Think you kind of asnwered yourself. Waste of time doing that to an old engine unless its pristine.

If, by some rare chance, you did have one, then skys the limit? Generally speaking, bottom ends are just pumps. They just go up and down as theyre told, providing they hold together. A new cam, heads, manifold and carb package could be anything from mild to wild.

We all know though that there are many, many factors to consider, so any actual figure, from my point of view, would be speculation.

A9X toranas had around 400hp i think, with very little mods other than cam, carb and meticulous prep work. Maybe with the better heads and good fuel that would be your ballpark?
