Hi, I've got a ford falcon XF 1987, GL. I currently have the standard cassette head unit in there, and im wanting to upgrade and put a cd head unit in, and upgrade the speakers to 6x9s. I really dont know alot about installing them, except i know that i could probably just use the old speaker wires, and just put my new speakers in. I also thought at first that the wires that were currently plugged into my cassette head unit would be the exact wires i would use for my cd player. But Ive been told that there is several wires, including one that is for the clock on the headunit, and some other things. So because the old head unit i have doesnt have a clock or screen, im wondering what extra wires im going to need to grab and plug in. I dont even know if i should be using the wires that are in the cassette head unit either? :/
If someone could give me a fairly detailed explanation of what to do, id be greatly appreciated. thanks alot,

Why not jst take the car downt o somewhere like audiocom or strathfields etc and get them to put the deck in for you?
If you only get them to put in the deck itself, it shouldnt cost too much more than 30-50bucks. They know (sorta) wht they are doing,
