Heres a question about towbars- did Holden make them in their factory or were they locally fitted by dealers? Are they generally the same fit throughout the range ie Ute sedan van etc ...? Cheers Mick

The HK Parts catalogue lists separate Tow Bars for Sedan, Ute/Van and Brougham, with additional part numbers for painted and chromed tongues. So, guess that the General made em, not the Dealers Edited by user Thursday, 11 March 2010 4:15:40 AM(UTC)

Many parts are sub contracted out, such as radios. So they may have been manufactured by a private company, but would have a Holden part number on them. The same company would then use the same design for their own tow bars.

Cheers guys. Im only asking because Im curious after hunting around for one for my HG, as its got the plug and holes, and I havent seen 2 the same- some have a horizontal bar, one is V shaped - am assuming thats for a dual exhaust.. some have a detachable tounge, some dont.. heaps are dodgy looking! No sign of part numbers so far.. Mick
