Yes i spotted it too,story is the Brisbane plant had a few apprentices working back in the day who liked having a few beers wednesday nights so every thursday they built what is now known as the 4th day of the week special aircleaner....
More like a bit of wishful thinking by the owner, seen it done before but it looks pretty trick. The original single inlet aircleaners are a bit restrictive so i guess this is a novel way of getting more air in there.

Look closely , the right snorkel (drivers side) is a HQ type and the other is the original left side type correct for HT HG . I have seen a few people home make these also . It could not be original as HQ type snorkels were not made at that time , so its totally impossible . www.monaromuscleparts.com

non factory item , The yanks had quite a few twin snorkel air cleaners on performance engines I have one from a corvette sitting on a 308 the snorkels are wide all the way to the opening.
