Has any one done this conversion? its rear mounted ,i have fitted the kit to the car but the sump (hg holden v8) does not clear the rack,just wondering if any one else has had this problem, the manufacturer insists it should fit

im not sure of your one. but there is a NSW guy who sell the brackets you weld to the rear of your cross member to bolt up the power steering rack and it sits nicely with the sump. i used a couple of his and never had a problem

From memory you can use a HQ-WB sump with a rear mounted rack on HK-HG. Anyone confirm/deny??

Jvanner this is one of those kits and i would have to take an inch or so off the bottom of the ht sump and HK i have tried a hq sump and would have to take a fair bit out of it too, the only thing i can think that may be different is i have used hq mounts which may be a tad lower than ht mounts but not a big enough difference to help with clearance, any one got any pics with the engine in place?
the rack sits a lot closer to x member than the original drag link

Thats not good for geometry. The rack & rod ends should be in the same location as the original linkage otherwise bump steer will be horrible.

v6 conversions supply a modified oil pan(sump) to suit a rear rack for v6 so they may supply a red motor one also?
