Ive had problems with the fuel guage reading for some time in my HT. The guage would not move above 1/4 full regardless of how much fuel I put in the tank. I removed the sender unit from the tank and connected it back to the guage, moving the float from empty to full position. The guage responded correctly.
After confirming the cork was not floating, I finished up replacing the original cork float with 2 x champagne corks to try it and and was successfull. I now have 3/4 full readng.
The book I have states the sender unit should give between 0- .5 ohms at empty and approx 32.5 at full. My sender unit shows apprx 10 ohms at empty and approx 42.5 at full.
Any one had a similar problem with the cork float?
Does any one have other specs for the sender unit ohms range?
