i was thinking on putting a 4 speed into my vk commodore
and i was wondering if the clutch system is rat trap or not?

No rat trap. VK commodores, like all VB-VK, have a cable operated clutch.
You need to get either a 6 or V8 pedal set (they are different) depending on your engine.
