Gents

I need to weld a flat steel bracket about 100x60mm onto the underside of the G.

Someones coming to do it for me, but I need to get it ready for him.

How do I do that without creating a rust trap??

Do I grind off so it's bare metal to bare metal and he then welds 4 sides and I paint over the lot??

Sorry for stupid question, but as per usual - never done this before.

Cheers

Jeremy

The G will roll again....

grind back to metal, buy a can of weld through primer, spray all surfaces (especially the side of the bracket that you wont see) weld the bracket on & when cool, spray with paint or body deadener.
