Hey,

i was just wondering what wheels would fit on an XA-XC ford coupe. I would like to know what the maxiumu dimention of a wheel in the rear would be. I would not like to modify the car in anyway. I thought 15 by 10s in the rear but someone said it wont fit without modification. Help please?

15x10 fit.

Un-modified the largest ive seen fit (and not foul every bump) were 20x9. The back space was set right in, giving the impression the wheels where 12" wide until you got close.

15x10 is possible , I would guess around a 5" backspace. I guess you are looking at 295 tyres ? . Reasonable chance u will have to roll the guard lip in. I run 265/50/15 on all my coupes with a 15x8 rim @ 4.5 backspace, they never rub and heaps chaeper them 295s.

I have 11.5 inch rims with 295x50x15 tyres on my XA Coupe and they dont foul the body even with the lips stock(not rolled)but the offsets are perfect.

You may get 12s with perfect offsets!!!

I used to have simmons B45s 15x10 with 295x50x15 tyres(5inch innersx5inch outers)and under normal driving they didnt rub.
I have 5 leafspring suspension reset 2 inches lower with nolathene bushes and a rear swaybar and my car has been lightened(car weighs less than 1400kgs) so the rearend is pretty stiff.Having said this Ive never had 5 large adults in the car,so that may make a difference.

If your rear suspension is worn and the bushes are clapped out rubber ones then under hard cornering there will be enough deflection to cause them to rub.
