reading the post about changing the barrel on a statesman, i have a similar problem with a 1974 caddy, however the key is broken off inside the barrel.
i have new locks from US, genuine and dont they look great, but how to fit it? came with a long skinny piece of flat bar presumably it is to release some sort of retainer?
i really dont want to stuff it up, where will i get a tilt/telescopic column in australia!

changing direction is a bitch as i have to get out, get under it and move selector lever on trans (T400)
