Hey peoples... long time reader first time poster...
Anyhow... I have a problem and I need some help please. I have gotten a black 202 into my HZ Panel Van, and it runs and runs well... BUT... Oil seems to be spitting out of the fuel pump... Not I thought it would come from where the fuel pump meets the block - but it doesnt. It seems to be coming out the bottom of the fuel pump - where there is like a little tube on both sides?? and it seems to be leaking out there and spraying all over the left side of the engine bay (at high revs or while driving it) I've read that is a 'plug' of sometype? Maybe? I have no real idea.
I have the workshop manual for it but it doesn't say too much. I'm trying not to have to remove the fuel pump but I am at a loss...
Would someone know what is happening? and or give advise how to fix it?? I have never heard of this issue before...
Thanks in advance!!!

Hmmm... f*ck... ok. Will have to start looking around for another one...
Is there any gain by capping off where the old one was and putting in an electronic fuel pump?
Oh - btw - I will be doing a straight gas conversion in the future...

Electric fuel pumps are excellent for alot of reasons,I have a very tight engine in one of my cars (403ci)and by time the fuel gets there ,my battery is too stuffed to crank the engine and the starters been going all that time.So in comes a holley blue electric (on ignition switch)and puts fuel right up to the carby ,then I turn the engine with full power from starter and battery, get one youll never look back.As described in the other post ,they are best fitted close to the fuel tank and ABOVE the chassis.Trust me they are one of the best things youll buy...thanxz.

Jim: Thanks heaps for the help. I really do appreciate it...
I will have a look for a holley blue and another mechanical pump - see which comes up first :)
I have found a rebuild kit for the mechanical pump. I might buy that and see if that fixes the old one :) Fingers crossed it does...
Cheers!

Buy a new mechanical fuel pump to suit. Inexpensive, easy to fit, will make your motor run. When going full gas, remove & blank the hole. Personally, waste of time fiddling with an electric pump for a 202. If you do, youll need to also fit an LPG type of timer to ensure that it doesnt run for more than a couple of seconds without coil pulse. Deadly without one in an accident. Really, for a 202, not worth the bother. (Unless VK injection fitted) Utility8 |

Found and purchased :)
Now to find out how to change the fuel pump... I am guessing it will be remove fuel hoses, undo bolts evenly, remove, clean up block, selastic, gasket, and then bolt on... Well, I hope it is that easy anyway... :)

HE asked about an electric pump ,i didnt bring it up?just advised him when he did,I thought thats what he asked for?.And I personnaly would fiddle with one, they are way better than crappy 202 mech pumps,Especially f!@#ked ones. Fitting gas?....Unplug the power to it ..huge job?. Jim in Adelaide...Hindsight is bad vision! Edited by user Wednesday, 21 April 2010 2:15:25 AM(UTC)
