Ive photographed my HK sedan mirrors, someone on here might have the original NASCO fitment sheets.

The mirrors are practically useless so I stuck those little blind spot mirrors on, makes them a lot more useful and they are cheap enough so that you can pull them off for shows.

The leading edge of the L/H side mirror stem is 170mm from the door edge as per the photo.

The drivers side is in the original holes and the passenger side is best location after lots of stuffing around, hope this helps. Also on the passenger side use bolts because you will have trouble getting a screwdriver up there.

there was a massive s*&t fight on that geriatric site a few weeks ago that argues about the posistioning of these mirror stalks and mirror heads etc, and the general consensus was that LHS on an coupe was useless in the posistion that was stated in the fitment sheets etc, about the only thing they could agree on was it really is a pain in the bumm to fit them on the LHS as 80569K mentions above.
so size it up yaself and screw it down to where suits you and thats it. you should have read those tools carrying on about it..boy oh boy was it a laugh, silly hick oldholdeners..hahaha

frank i belive the thread in question turned to sh1t when 69cult tried to sell the nasco fitting instructions instead of offering any real help to fit them

then you started sh1t stirring and it all went down hill from there

Thanks a million fellas especialy quarter horse for taking the time to put up the photos. I live in W.A. and have imported the car from South Africa so also have to get an Engineer to sign off on it. The ADR compliance inspection sheet asks
LHS external mirror fitted, is it "fiat" or "convex" circle the apropriate one. Whatever the hell that means. I will try to buy the little one that quarter horse has or just try to get it regoed without it as apparently it is quite painful to fit. Thanks again and keep up the bitching as long as it is in good spirit.LOL

A question for quarter horse please, where did you get those little mirrors to go inside the originals from as they look like a great idea. Thanks again for your efforts.

Im also in WA and I removed the LHS mirror from my HG GTS. I was of the opinion that they were manufatured for LH drive vehicles. contact DPI or what ever they call themselves now and get an answer from the engineering section in Welshpool. Cost of a 50c phone call better than drilling holes in your door.

Thankyou Bogart... In my youth I was a stallion so now in my old age Id reckon quarter horse sounds about right, lol.

Daves correct those mirrors are everywhere including the Reject shop, The Warehouse and those $2 shops.

Frank is correct too... life is way too short to have to put up with stupid people.

I had a blue with a young chap who was going to knock me back for a roadworthy because there was no passenger side mirror or rear seat belts fitted to my car. His father is a retired mechanic and just happened to walk into the shop during our discussion, he hosed his son down and the young bloke had to pull his head in.

If you go into the Rare Spares section of this forum you will see a debate between Simon and Les about these mirrors.

Cheers stallion-quarterhorse-bigboy.I was once called horse but now that I have built a patio over my tool shed (fat guts)I dont see it anymore so dont know what they would call me. Thanks again taking the piss and clownig around is more fun than getting the great info. Well must get ready as I am flying to Perth today to see my Chevrolet SS/HG Monaro for the first time in person. It has been at the old mans place for two months since its arival from South Africa and hopefully I will be able to get it regoed. I have spent a fortune at rare spares and on eBay sourcing parts, I had better tread carefully or will be in divorce court soon.I originally bought it around December and it has been a long drawn out saga but am sure it will be worth the wait and late nights on Ebay, Fastlane and other sites chasing info and parts but has kept me entertained and finally today I get to see my new baby. Thanks again everyone for all the help and info.
