The HK, the HJ and the A9X are the pick of them. The A9X will pull the most $ though.

They'll actually go for less in one big auction than they would if sold individually. The HJ coupe would probably fetch $35k-$40k, the LE about $30k-$35k. Maybe similar money for the HQ. Hard to say with the others.

I don't think they're all owned by the same person. The catalogue listing is for The Great Aussie Muscle Car Sale.

The BF Cobra ute with 105 km's looks familiar, pretty sure I've seen it advertised on AMCS before.

Here's the full listing
http://www.pickles.com.a...LISTING/saleid-103001773

Few nice late model coupes that wewrecks search missed, including a HRT427.

From what I've been told that HRT427 is V2 body number 1, and was originally the CV6 displayed at V2 release.

Just interested as to why the HJ is favoured by some of you over the HQ.
I have nothing against the HJ but I am just looking between the two and as always I can't go past the shape of the HQ.

Also for sheer collectability aren't the earlier two more desirable?

I just prefer HJ's better than HQ's in GTS coupe and Sandman only, comparing driveline for driveline. If we are talking HQ 350 GTS, LS or Kingswood (XW8) then HQ gets the nod. But if we are comparing 308 auto (trimatic) HQ to 308 auto (TH400) HJ then to me HJ gets the nod in GTS coupe and Sandman. Mainly due to the nicer dash, better seats and on the GTS with chin spoiler, more aggressive nose. I don't like the twin headlight HJ nose at all, just the single. I reckon twin HJ-HZ and WB fronts on HQ coupe sheels look bad, but somehow the HJ single headlight suits. I do really like HQ single headlight GTS fronts too, and a HQ GTS is a really nice car. I just have a soft spot for HJ's. Always have.
From how I interpret it too that HJ is a 308 TH400, but the HQ is a 253 trimatic. If the HQ was a 308 4spd it should be worth more than the HJ in identical condition.

I would prefer the HJ too. HQ is my favourite of all but theres something about the HJ GTS coupe that looks a little bit better. It looks meaner with the more squared look. and with a front spiler it just looks mint even though the one in the auction doesnt have it the overriders look pretty good on it.

The HQ appears to be a 350 ... or do we know this isn't original?

Taste is a funny thing, I'd never take an HJ before an HQ. Body, paint, decals, interior and instruments all more appealing to me on an HQ, and of course the Chev option. I guess that's why I own HQ's!

But that is probably the nicest HJ I've seen, along with a certain Premier seen in these parts.

I assumed it was a 253 HQ as it just said V8 auto, but the HJ said 5.0L. If it's a GTS 350 then it's definitely a good thing to own. Still not as rare as a 5.0L HJ GTS coupe though!

On the Premier thing, I saw photos the other day of a Sepia HJ GTS 4door GTS. Apparantly the owner is in the Vic Monaro club. Anyone know the car? I'd like to talk to the guy and see if we can get his GTS and my Premier together one day for a photo shoot!

A member of another forum knows the man who used to own all these, as one of the cars came from a mate of his. Apparently. Building industry player who recently filed for bankruptcy.

He mentioned that is wasn't purely business that has wrecked him.... *ahem* woman *ahem* ....sorry, slight cough.

All I know about the owner of the sepia HJ is that his name is Julian as he comes up to the drive back in almost every year with the vic monaro club, good bloke.

Cheers Stephen

Yep Julian B. is the guy your after. From memory he has had the car from new and is fitted with quite a lot of options. Possibility I'll be seeing him this week or on the weekend so I can ask for you.
