I am looking for suggestions for an electronic ignition setup for my HK 307 which is stock except for a Holley 600 and stock replacement dual plane manifold. This car is a cruiser so Im looking for reliability and low maintenance.

I have one of those multi brand made you know where WOFTAM HEI coil in distributors on it at the moment. I know it's now gunna cost way more but I'm not going down that road again.

Have had a look through all the local & US shop sites and there are plenty to choose from. Id like to hear what the gurus reckon would be the best set up & brand for what I use the car for.

Thank's in advance.

Been doing more talking to people & looking and it's come down to this, you can have the cheap crap or the next step is way up in $'s. The dissy I favour (MSD8365) is $338 in the US and $988 here? That is some mark up.

Thank's Adam, unfortunately the sad fact is that most if not all lower priced dissy's are made in China. Google JEG'S & SUMMIT RACING et al and you will see it is the same story over there, what is $150 there is $350 here and what is Made in USA sells for over $300 there and is over $900 here.

Where this stuff is made is a bit of a hot topic topic on some of the US forums, they are only just realizing what we have known for a while. MSD have admitted that their Streetfire range is Chinese made with some US made bits inside, they are trying to compete with the flood of crap, Mallory same same.

If I were to buy an MSD8365 from the US and pay the US$100 postage it would come to A$530, still saving $450. You can import up to $1000 worth of goods excise free by post.

All of which leads me back to my original question.
