hi, i have trouble bleeding my rear brakes on my xb coupe, I have done my front but can't get the fluid to the rear for some reason, i know that the lines are clean, what could be the problem is there any trick to it, does it need lot of pedal pumping? and how long. pls help. thanks

Hey mate, How old is your master cylinder and have you checked if you are getting fluid out of the master cylinder port that supplies your rear brakes? Does your car have a brake proportioning valve? What method are you using to bleed your brakes? The only other thing I can think of is if your flexible brake line from the body to diff is collapsing internally?

hi, it's late 75 rear drum , I have opened both lines from the rear cylinders i filled both compartments with fluid in the master cylinder and started pumping, and yes fluid is coming out of the master cylinder, is that valve adjustable and where about is it if i have it. what am i doing wrong?

I think it was only the early model with proportioning valve, I think it was under the brake booster from memory? Process of elimination from here. Crack the rear brake line from master cylinder down and see if you can isolate the problem. Always start from the line furthest away from master cylinder and work your way back to closest is rule of thumb!

you were corect, i checked the rubber hose from the body to the diff and it was full of crap i cleaned it up and i have fluid flowing now no problem, thanks a lot buddy now i can sleep better
