Maaaate. A minter. Kick the tyres, light the fires, let it rock. Put a tyre on the spare, extra can of jungle juice, maybe some water and a fan belt and rock on.
The only other thing thinking of just looking at it is some of the spray on / peel off clear vinyl protector for the nose.

The paints not as good as it looks in the photos, and anyway 'stone chips are the best trophies' as the saying goes.

Drive it for sure. But as someone but as someone else said join made it to the RAC before the trip just in case. 5 years ago i brought a ute in VIC and tried to drive it back, made it to port wakefield just north od Adelaide i think it was and did my gearbox, and being a supra box couldnt source one quick enough, so ended up trucking it back home to WA.(wish i was with the RAC then) Not long after my mate had his EH transported over to WA, when it arrived it had a blown motor, yet they drove it onto the truck????? And after fighting with the company they only ended up paying for half of a new 308 for it. Dodgy!

Drive it. Nothin like a Road trip.

I hate to be boring but.... I would be careful doing a huge trip in it until the mechanicals are proven to you. I put my HQ back on the road after 8 years of little use. Did all the good things with hoses, oils etc. All seemed good at first then started getting serious overheating due to blocked coolant passages. Problem didn't show until she had been on the road for a while.
Its worth a lot of money so I would make sure before the big trip if it was mine.

That is why I suggested a cooling system check. They probably would suggest a full flush and hose replacement anyway.

Decisions made, we'll be doing the road trip for sure but I think I've got 4 or 5 days of service and inspection work on the car first.
Just bought a GPS so I'll know where the hell I'm going.
Got 6-weeks off 5-days from now so it will happen when I get my s*** together in a few weeks.
The plan is to cruise back and take our time doing it . . . and no break-downs allowed!

----------THINGS TO DO-----------------------
Full engine service / belts
Steering & chassis lube
Power steering fluid change
Trans fluid change and service
Diff oil change
Cooling system chem flush and press test / new hoses thermostat and cap
Brake fluid flush & change
PEDDERS gas sports ryder shocks all round
Check all wiring
New uni joints
Maybe a steering suspension and brake check at PEDDERS on D-day
Temp wire up some music

Good one,
Also as part of your planning you could post your intended route up on here and ask what members are on the way so that you can get phone numbers.

Then if you do run into doodoo one of us might be able to help out. If you run a smooth trip then meeting up with other members on the way would also be a worthwhile part of your road trip.

Is that your intended route from Sydney over the Blue Mountains to Cowra and then down Olympic Way to Albury?

Definitely the scenic route and 10 years ago you would almost have passed my house which was about 1KM off Olympic Way but alas I've moved house and Olympic Way has changed route a bit.

Man that is one tortured trip through Sydney, make sure you don't arrive in peak hour. If that's your home address on that link you might want to remove it.
