A mate and myself are looking for info on Holden carbies such as the numbers on the sides/tops of them.Do they relate to a particular engine capacity and/or manual or automatic? Is there a list somewhere that tells me which carby goes on a 173...186 and 202? I am doing up a 1977 HZ 1 tonner for a daily driver for myself(very theraputic too)and I am also torn between putting in a 186 auto or a 202 auto.Thoughts,ideas and info on all or any of the above is very much appreciated. Peter.

Here is what I have found so far, it's by no means complete, and some have more details than others. I ran off 2 copies of the carby list and gave one to my mate.I found that the carby I set aside for the 202 was exactly right.We are going out to a licensing day on Sunday for the Batavia Car Club and we will be sharing the list around.The next question I had was to find out what opinions people had on the 186 and 202 as engines of choice for a HZ 1 tonner/auto daily driver.What are the good and bad points on both.Sorry about the long winded message. Peter.

Good list Leroy, but I believe this is wrong, should be HR-HK only (and to be alphabetically correct at the start of the list).

23-201A&B HR-HG 186S Manual, a
23-202A&B HR-HG 186S Auto


Also, as far as I am aware these older WWs are the US made ones, as opposed to the Aussie made 3035 and 3036 for HT HG

For completeness, the 23- signifies GMH, 2- is ford, 32- is inter (International Harvester), 1- is universal, 3- is dodge, 6- is studebaker
