does anyone know the price for the HT white hot

i posted a question about info on white hot special HT
is there anyone that would be able to tell me what the price I would get for it if I was to sell I am not sure what to ask for it
its a 69 HT kingswood 'white hot special' 40,000 original miles all in original condition, been in my shed and in immaculate condition
if anyone can help me out!

I know that this is an old post but I'd also like to know what the market for this sort of car is. Im not really an expert but I know these don't come up too much. At 40000 miles and if immaculate as described, id guess 10K -15K?
I don't think these factory 253 Ht's based on the kingswood would be all that common.
Maybe one of the gurus could set us straight?

There were heaps made, they aren't based upon a Kingswood as such - they were simply a standard V8 HT Kingswood. I think Terry or Warren said they were built to showcase the new Holden V8 engine. I think the only thing unique about them was they were all white and offered at some sort of discounted price. I'd imagine that if you put one of these next to a car in the exact same condition but with a 4spd the 4spd car would be worth more and have both been rarer originally and rarer now.
Having said that any HK-HT in immaculate condition with 40,000 miles on it is worth having and worth good $. I don't think being a white hot special would excite anyone though, the condition would be a bigger price driver. |

Only GTS's had a GTS dash. Others had optional instruments, and normally only the GTS got the higher MPH/kMh speedos (although Sandman got the GTS's speedo in HQ). Not sure if a white hot special got optional instruments or not, but any Kingswood could have that anyway. |

It was a package consisting of:
3 speed manual
Disc brakes
Heater
This was the most common combination in the Kingswood with a 186, so Holden packaged the same but with a 253 for next to no extra money in an effort to get 253s out there for word of mouth sales.

I forgot about the discs, good pickup Warren. So it was a standard V8 HT Kingswood with disc brakes and heater. |

Also came with Sports Discs and White Wall Tyres news paper advert at the time claimed you would save $135

The 'Sports discs' would be the hub caps/ wheel trims I would think. Are they unique to this special? |

Nice find with the newspaper add.
I notice the add shows GTS hub caps but im guessing that that was not standard. As you said before, you could order a GTS dash, hubcaps as optional extras if you so wished to purchase them as extras.

They were listed as GTS Sports Type Disc
Standard on GTS and GTS 350
Optional on all other models excluding Brougham

That particular advert uses that term, but I've seen several others using the name White Hot Special (using upper case letters). I do question whether these cars had a heater/demister as standard. I've not seen any literature to support that. AFAIK these were just 80469 Kingswood sedans with the TRIM number line reading 1192 - 11E (Kashmir White with Gold interior) or 1192-12E (Kashmir White with Blue interior). The only options fitted were the 253 V8 (std for 80469), power front disc brakes, sports wheel discs (GTS wheel trims) & white-wall tyres. Dr Terry |

Don't all HT with 253 come with disc.
A mates sister had a white hot special 'kingswood' it was white with a dark blue roof and dark blue bench seat interior with GTS wheels rim trim rubbish a 253 with 3 on the tree.
I did not think much of it back in 1979 as most GTS had mag wheels on them by then.
They were nothing but more of a promotion to get people to buy the real engine that was made for the car not the poverty pack 186 gutless rubbish. people were so wound up with having to have a 6 cyl and feared V8's generally, rego price was another cry against the V8.

My dads HG 186 auto prem wagon had discs from new. His friends 253 auto prem wagon had discs and 8 track from new. |

Just a couple of clarifications here:
NSW had ruled that discs were manditory with V8 from 1969, all other states from 71. So although HG is seen as the V8 disc standard it actually came in earlier in some states.
Rego for V8 and 6 was the same or almost the same price in most states, Queensland was more expensive.
