But back to the original question.

How much would a very clean low mileage original be realisticly be worth today?
Nothing more than a 253 HT kingswood unless the buyer seen some merit in an option pack, it's just like any other just an option pack. the problem is it's only a cheap option pack.
If it was a 308 4speed with bucket seats air con premier option pack now that may be more of an interesting package to be sort after but not many people know of the white hot special or give a toss about it. you have to find a buyer that is willing to understand what you have and appreciate it for what it is and fork out just a bit more.

It's something like if you had a HD holden with disc brake option and when you went to sell it back in the day it gave no better resale and not many people had any idea that it was really so much better a car to drive to appreciate it and today it's just a HD with dics and not worth a cracker more than any other HD but if it was an X2 well that's a X2.

Agree. It'll sell on condition more than on what it may have been.

Castellan, your mates sister with "white hot special" with dark blue roof. My Grandfather painted his hot special roof dark blue, sold it to a lady around Swansea Heads NSW 1978. Wondering if it's the same one.

A mates sister had a white hot special 'kingswood' it was white with a dark blue roof and dark blue bench seat interior with GTS wheels rim trim rubbish a 253 with 3 on the tree.
I did not think much of it back in 1979 as most GTS had mag wheels on them by then.

They were nothing but more of a promotion to get people to buy the real engine that was made for the car not the poverty pack 186 gutless rubbish. people were so wound up with having to have a 6 cyl and feared V8's generally, rego price was another cry against the V8.
