hi i cant for the life of me figure this date code out can sdomeone advise.. its of a 253 hp motor  cheers carl

If it is a 253 it cant be '68 (diff date code format ie H288), '88 or 98.
The engine prefix will confirm what decade could apply for other blocks.

It can't be 98 either James as 253 was gone by then!

The 253 was gone by 1988, as well. I think the last 253 blocks would have been made in 1983, for the last of the VKs. They would have been stockpiled for the late WBs.

I dont think VKs had 253s.
