the power steering rack on my brothers el is leaking quite badly!
so i'm just wondering, is a changeover rack the best option?
is this easy to change in your driveway (with limited tools)?

The racks are a pretty straightforward swap if you do go the way of an exchange unit.
Is it actually the rack that is stuffed? the high pressure hose is often the first thing to give up.

hi jim, the fluid is a fast drip out of the drivers side boot, when it's topped up it is perfect to steer
i'm assuming it's just a seal? can these be changed easily?
if i was at home it would be on my workbench in bits to have a look, but i'm at my brothers place (3000k's away) and he has limited tools so i don't want to start something i can't finish

I've never pulled a rack apart sorry I can't help with that one.

nah me either, that's why i think i'll go with the change over rack
the weather beautiful in townsville this time of the year so any car repairs seriously eats into our fishing time!!!
the car is just a boat tower so i might just put another litre of fluid in and call it fixed ;-)

Keep it topped up with Nulon power steering stop leak and eventually the leak might just stop. Mine did for a while when the pump leaked.
