Assume you could go back in time, with cash. What Holden model would you buy, and how would you option it? Only factory options and dealer installed accessories allowed.

Aside from the obvious cars like HK-HQ 1837, XU-1, L34, A9X:
1969 HK V8 manual Kingswood utility in Inca Gold or Burgundy Maroon;
1971-3 HQ L30 M41 Kingswood utility in Aquamarine (order through an influential dealer, probably Bob Jane etc);
1974 HJ Kingswood Sandman utility L31, M41, air, steer in Satin mist, Sepia or Berry Nice;
1974 HJ GTS coupe L31, M41, air, steer, power windows in Satin mist, Chamois or Mandarin red;
1979 HZ Sandman ute, L31, M41, air, steer in Palais White DL7.
Late 1979 K20 in V8 M40 in white.

i would order one of those four door ford taxi things with the hole in the bonnet of course being a taxi would have the handling option? ho? so me and frank could cruise st kilda on friday saturday night lol.

I'd take the colour and trim combo from the 1972 HQ GTS coupe I already own (salamanca red and houndstooth), but order it with a 350 and a muncie, air-con, radio cassette player and most importantly the 'Coolaride Cushion' !.

You could order anything of you knew the right people! I'm sure I have seen an Inca Gold HK ute in GMH literature, in a drawing I think. How's this for a pipe dream, would like to know if it would have been possible to order this one. HK Belmont sedan, Warrigal Black, Premier interior in Goya red with bucket seats & GTS dash, console etc, plus heater, air & steer. 327 eng, 4 sp saginaw, 10 bolt diff, Bathurst fuel tank and all the other GTS bit's. Basically a GTS 327 in a Belmont body. A real wolf in sheeps clothing... Thank's Mack & Warren, yes of course, power windows. Also no 327 front fender badges. Some of these are about knowing someone. You would need to be a very special customer for that to happen, ie buy a new car every year or so. I am sure that if he average joe walked into Bob Jane's Southern motors and asked for "special" order the response would be "they do not make that".
If you want anything that was physically possible, but only possible for special people, then why not a LT1 370HP in a HG Belmont sedan, La Mans blue (vett colour), heavy duty 4 speed, 4.56:1 diff, GTS dash, Brougham interior, power windows, power steer, disc brakes, GTS 350 suspension, guards and bonnet, buckets and console.
But if you want just what was possible for anyone then the inca gold Kingswood and the L30 HQ would be out.

i would go back to the late 70`s when good 2nd hand nasco accessories were uncool throw away items as far back as the 50`s and buy it up along with HQ crash pads(jim) bring it forward in time and retire on ebay, might then go back to the mid 80`s and buy a whole lot of tidy coupes for a song...
