My EH still has the original paint. It has recently developed some rust coloured stains on the paint particularly on the boot lid.

I can't afford to get it resprayed. Is there a way to remove the stains? If so what with ?

Give CLR a go, it works well for removing rust stains but test on another painted surface first just encase it dulls or fades the colour.

Try everyday car polish. I've seen that work quite well. You might have to use a polish with a little bit of a "cut" to it.

Vandals and graffiti "artists" do everyone a favour and target parking meters and fixed speed cameras only.

Mate the rust appearing is the uv breakdown of the original duco due to the age ,the paint is porous and absorbs water thus its rusting from under the paint and bleeding through . the medium cut polish will do the trick as jim5.0 advised .This will eventually cut through to the red oxide primer if you polish frequently with a machine but you can hand polish just as well without taking too much top coat off .
