If you've already got the pistons matched to the long rod 351 then there shouldnt be any problems with C/C heads. But there isn't much benifit to a long rod with clevo's. The long rod concept was brought around to increase dwell at TDC and so increase int

Theres no issue with running a CC head on a 351 running 302 rods. Well that is if you have enough camshaft to relieve the pressure. A mate got talked into running OC heads on a 378. He's regreting it now. It's a low comp dog of an engine. Sad really!

I was told when i done my engine, doing the long rod conversion it reduces the angles of the rod to piston there for saving piston skirts. when i pulled the enging down i think there was only one piston with skirts left the rest were in pieces everywhere.

1st bit of advice is don't even contemplate using bolt on roller rockers with a solid camshaft. The ramp rates too hard for 5/16th studs. The end result will be around 5800rpm the bolt will flex and the pushrod will impact the head. You need to run screw |

You could get closed chamber 351 heads they were 4v heads. Closed chamber 2v's weren't fitted to 351's. XB Fairmont sedan : [email protected] |

That cam sounds like a large cam dynamics hyd cam by the specs. If it is? That cam works to 6100rpm on a dyno. By cam spec 2800-5800 of the top of my head. Next cam up is a competition cams camshaft. Thats if you don't want to spend $ on screw in studs et |

2/10ths of f**k all difference in regards to performance. I run a stock cast crank. Nothing special. Clevo cranks are huge and are very strong. The difference is in their preparation before fitting into an engine. XB Fairmont sedan : [email protected] |

On your heads just do the portwork and unshroud the valves if necessary. Don't touch the chambers apart from the deshroud. XB Fairmont sedan : [email protected] |

If you stay hydraulic cammed go bolt ons. If you decide on a solid cam go screw ins. The cost is about the same anyway. For example stud mount crane roller rockers are about $450->490. Bolt ons are around $750->800.
With the screw in stud you nee |

Your best bet is to try Competition cams or run the same camshaft you have with 110 lobe sep instead of 112. Marcus at superplus runs a large hyd cam in his engine I'm pretty sure it's a competition cams camshaft. If you email superplus via http://www.supEdited by user Friday, 1 April 2005 12:52:53 AM(UTC)
