Hi Todd.
HQ V8 is the simplest power steering conversion there is. Unlike later model series, all HQs have the same steering linkage whether p/st or not. Also the V8 has only one single pump bracket, unlike the 6-cyl which need several fiddly bits which always seem to be conveniently missing.
You will need: P/st Box (HQ to WB are all interchangeable) Fabric steering column coupling Hi & lo pressure hoses (6 & V8 the same, but WB different) V8 Pump (HQ to HZ same, you can use a 6-cyl & ignore the extra rear stud) Crank pulley with extra groove (2 groove if no A/C or 3 groove with A/C) Bolts for crank pulley Bolts & spacers for pump & bracket
It's best to fit reconditioned units, these things are all now 30+ years old & very leaky.
Contact Greg at Classic Oz-Wreck (see advert above) he can sell you a complete kit ready to go, with the pump & box already overhauled with warranty. Don't muck around with eBay or swap meets it will end up costing you more in the end.
Dr Terry

As Dr Terry said ,but I have found to make sure you get the bigger steering coupling they are different and short steering arms(which it should have anyway),quite often the wrong ones pop up.but the rest is as above as the "Dr" says easy as.!oh yeah and another fan belt!!...lol Jim in Adelaide...DONT LISTEN TO BULLS@#T LONGER THAN YOU HAVE TOO!
