G'day All,
In my manual (HX Red 202) it says that if there is a yellow sticker on the vacuum advance unit, then the timing should be set to 6deg BTDC, and if it has a red sticker or no sticker it should be set to 3deg BTDC. The problem is with my dizy being nearly 30 yrs old it hsa only the remnants of a sticker there, but its too worn to see what color it was, so I need to know what criterie determines the color of the sticker so that I can determine which setting is the right one for my car. Thanks for any help that can be offered.

Might not be the answer your after but I would run it at 6-9 deg btdc and run good quality fuel. Anything over and you get hot start problems. Hope it helps Cheers Jim.
