What a great find. not one of the forums I would have expected to find that sort of information on. It also goes a long way into explaining this http://cgi.ebay.com.au/w...wItem&item=170552580878&A HOLDEN TORANA LC ENGINEERING REPORT MANUAL NO 4FB1-WE-011 ISSUED BY ISUZU MOTORS LIMITED, JAPAN. It got me interested in what it was all about and now I see more clearly the Isuzu connection. Cheers Paul. Edited by user Wednesday, 3 November 2010 9:12:35 AM(UTC)

The 4 door Monaro LS, according to Ben, is not badged as such. It is a different badge simular to a Monaro LS badge.

It's a dead ringer for the MonaroLS badge used on the Q-J cars here. Remember that local sedans also had a Monaro badge on them even though they are not coupes. Could be a trend to use up surplus badges as export people would not know what the names meant. The text makes a point of the LS part but the Monaro name is not there for some reason. look out, the guru is coming through... |

It also looks to have a HQ Premier/LS lion badge on the C pillar.

The back of the "MonaroLS" is also interesting, it has an HQ rear bar with HJ rear lights.
The dash is HQ and has clock.
The rear of this brochure is much more interesting than the front.

Here is another odd one Warren, take a look at the rear of this HQ South African Chev (Statesman) It's got a local market HQ Statesman bumper bar, with the inserts. This was not what was sold in South Africa - The brochure must have been only for promotional purposes.

There is a collection of these types of ads etc here. http://www.flickr.com/photos/holden_brochures/I posted a link to it a while back but I am not sure where that post is now. Cheers Paul.

Sweet. Thsnks Byron. Does this mean that I can badge my HQ Premier project as a Monaro LS 4 door?

Warren sent me a scan of the rear of the "LS" brochure. I'm going to get the girls at the local Thai restaurant to decipher it for me then put it up here with it deciphered. The car actually has a HQ rear bar and HJ tail-lights. Not sure what quarters it actually has yet (ie HQ or HJ).

When we wrote the book a fellow I was working with was an electrician at Acacia ridge and told me about havng to reset the machines for export cars.
This is probably the ones he was talking about, as they have the HJ rear and HQ front and dash panel.
Note the HJ Premier badge on the pillar

In South African the HR premier got the aussie 186 motor and it looks like some of the HK premier would be a 186 motor to full imported. As the SA built HR and HK got the chev 6 cyl.
