Dxx2 or Dx2 where x or xx is the day of the month.

there is no "I" used in the date codes for the casting month, as it can be confused with 1, so Jan=A Feb=B march=C April=d may=E june=F july=G aug=H sept=J oct=K nov=L dec=M.

Hi All

Does this mean that D221 would mean 22 April 1971?

Hi Jim.
From my collected engine details so far the closest I can get to the change over was between
18/05/1973 and 19/06/1973.
Also on aussie gearbox housings I have a 7/06/1973 cast box with a 7 F 3 coding.
So I am suspecting the 1st of June 1973 may have been the actual change over date.
Cheers Paul.
