I bought these NOS rear mudflaps for my HQ ute however they don't fit(as advertised.

I think they are from a Statesman. Can anyone confirm what they are from:
M39864
M39863

they were packed in 1997 so seem pretty new,

cheers,

Scott

Probably WB Statesman. I'll have a look tonight. If they are WB Statesman i'll buy them off you if you want to sell them. HJ-HZ sedan and wagon and WB Statesman are the same, and I need a pair for my HJ Premier. I may even have some NOS HQ (same as HJ-WB ute and van, HJ-HX coupe and HJ-HZ Statesman) examples. From memory I have 2 x RH front in NOS too, but no LH front (all the same).

Scott I can find out the part numbers later this week if no one else replies before then.

Byron the WB Statesman rears are in fact unique to the rest. This is due to their much wider lower boot. I might have some good uncracked HJ-HZ sedan rears and LH front if you want to swap for some others, I'm after a good set of ute/van rears.

Just checked.

HJ-HZ sedan, wagon and WB Statesman are the same - package is p/n 9932570.
HQ all, HQ-WB ute/van, HJ-HX coupe and HJ-HZ Statesman are the same - package is 2820200.

Individuals are:

Front - 2820352/3 (R/L)
Rear - 2820346/7 (R/L) HQ all, HQ-WB ute/van, HJ-HX coupe and HJ-HZ Statesman
Rear - 9932288/9 (R/L) HJ-HZ sedan, wagon and WB statesman.

Not sure what M39863 and 4 are, might be supercede numbers for WB Statemsan. More likely a VL number though.

I have a NOS pair of 2820346/7 and 2 x NOS 2820352.

M39863 = VN wagon LH rear mud flap.
M39864 = VN wagon RH rear mud flap.
Cheers,

Mick

I stand corrected, thanks for clarifying that Byron. For some reason I thought there were 3 variations of the rears. I'll have to go through my box of mudflaps and double check what is there.

Hi guys,

I have found another variation of the HQ-WB mudflap.

9928359/60

They are the same profile as 2820346/7 above, but are about 1 inch shorter. The Holden logo is embossed in the same position, but the flap is shorter. These are the originals on my HQ Statesman and I also have an identical set that were removed from a HQ sedan.

With that number they are a revision. The original HQ mudflaps have part numbers starting in 28. I have seen these before too, I think I have a NOS RH front the same, the logo is right at the bottom not in the ribbed section.

Just checked my Oct 1973 HQ Parts catalogue and it says that all short wheelbase models, ie sedan and coupe have the shorter rear mudflaps (9928359/60) and the lwb models, ie wagon/statesman/ute/van have the longer 2820346/7 flaps.

I gave away my 1971 HQ parts catalogue so can't check, but perhaps back then they all shared the 282* flaps and the shorter ones came with the 1973 update.

Could be right, funny though as far as I can tell that at HJ release there is no mention of a different part number for HJ coupe (just lists the same as ute, van and statesman), or different rear flaps for sedan and wagon (share the same part number).
