Hey Guys

I am considering a 350 chev tpi transplant into my Vs V6 commodore sedan. i am wondering if anyone has any experience or advice regarding this transplant. any help or info would be appreciated thanks

i think you might have trouble getting rego. because most of those engines were produced before VS commodores.

CRS have chev mounts for early commodores. but not sure about VS. you will most likely need a custom sump. you could use the tranny from a 5L

Hi Guys.

Rego legality is one problem.

One other one is what do you do about the SBC oil pump. I looked at SBC into Commodore years ago & without going dry-sump or some other expensive means, how do guys get around the oil pump problem.

There was one in last month's street machine. Save your dollars, sell the VS and buy a 5-litre, and stroke it. A 355 stroker crank for a 308 is only around $500 now, and you simply use 350 Chev rods and 383 pistons. Build it all up with the right cam, get

Yeah i know that the chev isnt as simple or as cheap as the holden motor but the idea is for something a bit different. By the way the motor is an lt1 motor out of a 96 corvette not a tpi as first thought. i dont know if this makes any difference

Still the same basic motor to look at (some big differences in the EFI components & accessory drives).
One downside is the LT1 had the "crab claw" dizzy driven off the nose of the cam (which is notorious for breaking down due to water ingress from the wa
