HI mate, got that on the 308 Tonner I just bought. Don't think it's that good actually, unless it needs a tune up desperately. Is it any good if set up right, as the guy I bought the ute off said the duel fuel set p he had originally with the inpco mixer had heaps more grunt.... I agree with him, my 202 has more pull than the 308, just doesn't sound any good! If you think a tune up will make a difference I'll try it but am pretty much sold on going back to duel fuel, which means I may sell this system in the end

If it's the single GasResearch mixer, then the 308 will always feel sluggish.

However, if it's the dual throttle body (aka mixer or gas carby) setup, then it will absolutely hammer when it's well set up & tuned properly - I've got a mate with a warm 308, and another with a 333 stroker both running twin gasresearch systems, and they pull harder than one on fuel.

The twin mixer setup also needs twin convertors, twin lock-offs, and dual feed lines (or at least a 5/16" feed line that is T'd off to each convertor) otherwise you can't flow enough gas to them, and you'll strangle the 308.

Cheers,

Mick

Ah.... Yep mine;s the single throttle body one. So if I went to either a mixer with the standard quadrajet running as duel fuel or the Cas REsearch set up with twin throttlebody and two converters which one would have better response/power (torque) in low to mid rev range, say from idle to 3000rpm?

If your tank's valve & supply line is 5/16" then I'd get a 2nd convertor & GRA throttle body, and a Y-piece to bolt in place of the quaddy, and make it straight gas.

If you only have 1/4" line, then it won't support twin GRAs, and you'd be better with the quadddy on fuel, and no gas system.

However, a large chunk of the decision should come down to the miles you do, and fuel costs in your local region. Personally I'd be going straight gas & tuning the motor to suit (more static timing, less total advance, more compression when you have the opportunity etc etc).
Cheers,

Mick

Here's a couple of pics of the twin GRA setup I mentioned previously on the 333 stroker (it's now in a VK - was in a VH):

Cheers,
