Hey guys,
Is Eastern Auto Upholstery still in business? from memory this chap was real hard to get a hold of???
I dont feel like spending the next fortnight listening to the phone ring out.
Any help would be appreicated !!

Wow i just came across a massive thread at oldholden.com I see im not the only person to be biblically screwed over by this mob...... Has anyone out there got work of eastern auto recently? I sense a up hill battle to get either my money back or the gear i ordered. I think I will be paying his chap a visit next time im in melbourne. Im sick of the excuses and BS. went to use this guy a few years ago only needed a metre of material to fix problem but wouldnt sell it to however he did offer to sell me a complete kit which i did not need i contacted my trimmer and together we sourced it elsewhere and a cheaper rate

I decided not to go with that company after poor feedback. If you are after door cards etc, try Winner Products in S.A. They supplied Door trims, kick panels and parcel shelf for Hq Coupe. Excellent quality. My local trimmer in Bris did the seats with original vinyl. Peter

I live in Sydney and one day when I was in Melbourne I made a visit to Eastern Auto Upholstery, to introduce myself to Gary. He was very accomodating and showed me the processes on making the door trim. I have dealt with Gary many times over the years and felt the same like alot of people on here. Now I have a better understanding. My advice to you is to have some patience. He is a car enthusiast like us.

Hmm, I reckon its a pretty cheap shot to run someones business down on a public forum. Sounds more like gossip at a CWA meeting than constructive car information.

It isn't a cheap shot and should be part of any forum to warn other potential victims of inappropriate business ethics and workmanship.
I know first hand and say run away! run away!! at the very mention of Eastern Auto's name and when I put my experience on another forum I was suprised at the amount of irate customers who had spent thousands of dollars like me and been had.
What would be cheap is to sit back and say nothing and let others fall into the trap. I also heard good feedback before I gave them the work after I was suprised at how many were grossly unhappy and have said nothing and warned noone.
I paid thousands, know its wrong and have to live with it as I can't afford to have it done again (as others have). 6 years in restoration, everything is immaculate and I run into eastern Auto and the whole experience turns my stomach, I have to live with the fact that I know that it will never be right and I was conned.
Eastern Auto at your peril!!!

Balfizar I used to think like you but my opinion changed when I went to Eastern Auto.
I even thought it was just a Victorian thing as I have had bad experiences with other car resto companies in Victoria but as they say, you get good experiences and bad experiences with any company, no matter what field they are in or state.

I've never used them, just came across them at the ballarat swap.. Come to think of it they haven't got back to me since then reguarding a HQ wagon headling in Ash... mmmmm |

well heres one for you boys, i ordered a complete coupe interior and paid for it, I never received it, the guy just kept telling me it was sent and he would retrieve it. This went on for weeks leading to months. So I flew from Brisbane to melbourne, rocked up on his door step and refused to leave until I had my gear, I ended up with most of the trim that day.
The product is excellent but there service was crap so if you can get your stuff made by someone else who is good then go there. If not be warned !!!!!!!!!! bayswater eastern auto upholstery hmmmmmm
