I am restoring a HQ GTS350 coupe but do not have an original QU numbered 350 for it. Can anyone point me in the right direction.

Keep watching Ebay. There weren't many HQ's with QU prefix engines (around 800), but many thousands with 11QU. The engines had numbers that were plant specific too so there is probably no point buying an engine for top $ simply as it has QU on it as it may be as wrong for the car as any other SBC engine. Also talk to Greg at Classicozwreck. For the right money he may sell you one he has there. It never hurts to ask.

Thanks for the above info HK1837. If I can pick your brains a bit more the build date is 8/9/71 and the assembly plant is Sydney. Do you know how I can find out what engine numbers would have been listed for that plant.

They were supposed to start at xxQU10000 and run to xxQU39999 (xx either 11 or not there) for Pagewood but didn't exactly do that. Your best bet is emailing me the vehicle details and i'll pass on to Ben Stewart and he may be able to help with what you are looking for (engine number estimate).
I suggest you talk to Greg, he may sell you the engine out of his Pagewood LS350 that is a similar build timeframe, for the right $. Or buy the whole car off him and onsell the rest!

Greg may not be interested in selling, but it doesn't hurt to ask!
