After what seemed like search for the holy grail I now have another sal for my HZ panelvan.
I have a question though does the 10 bolt salisbury have a drain plug?

Not that i know of, just the filler plug. You have to loosen off the back cover and let the oil out that way, then reseal and fill up to the bottom of the plug hole. Thats how i've always done it.

I think it just came down to the fact that by the time they designed the Salisbury case, oil technology (and knowledge) had come to the point where they no longer needed to regularly change the diff oil anymore, so it was seen as a manufacturing cost saving. |

As commodorenut says-and the same logic saw the deletion of the drain plugs in automatics too.

From memory I think if you remove the lowest cover bolt, it acts as a drain. |
