I visited the motherload of old cars a few weeks ago near Tanunda SA.
Never seen so many old cars, most were knackered though.
He could crush most of them without any great loss.
The local council recently told him hes gotta start cleaning it all up.
The guy who owns it all is 67 years old and hes been collecting since he could walk I think.

Mostly 50's and 60's not much from the 70's
I didnt find anything useable for a HQ but it was good to have a look around.
HK,T,G stuff had well and truely been raped over the years.

It would have been a gold mine 10 or 15 years ago I bet.

Isn't it amazing how some guys seem to just keep buying and buying just to watch them rot into the ground.

Because they've been left in a paddock they're looked at as scrap. If they had been left in a big barn he'd be a millionaire.

Out near Avoca in Vic there's a paddock with at least 200 cars, again most only good for scrap. Wheels removed and sitting on their floorpans rusting from the bottom up.

True but I dont think he bought many of them he's always just been the local dumping ground for all the dead cars in the Barossa area.

He's open for business and happy to sell anything and everything but he's not cheap, you can find more bargains on ebay I reckon.
Ive got his phone number at home but buggered if I know what the address was, I probably couldnt find the place again without some help.

A few more years and they'll all be crushed.

There's a wrecker in cooma like that.... Masses of bits and cars, but he is sooo expensive, that they will all rust away. No one would pay the prices he was after. $350 for a bare banjo case, no brakes!!

I know exactly where this yard is and I know the bloke who runs it very well. It is not a business or a wrecking yard but a private collection. I have been going there for years and I know how much trouble he has had with low life scumbags ripping him off continually by thieving, breaking in and stealing, throwing parts over the fence and damaging the cars. He is fed up and will be scrapping the lot soon I reckon. Either that or he'll stop dealing with people and letting them in.

I know he hates anyone posting the whereabouts of his location on the internet for all to see. It has always been a word of mouth thing. He is only open to the public between 8.30am - 12pm Saturday mornings and not on long weekends.

Ok I didnt realise it was a secret society thing.
He did mention that most will be scrapped soon so I dont know why he wouldnt want customers.
Should I edit the post and just show photos then?

No, you've done the right thing by not posting the details of the location. If anyone wants to know just get them to email you.

Cheers

Geez councils are a pain in the ar$e! If its his collection and on private land and its not bothering anyone then why should he have to clean it all up...? They just love stickin their noses into everything.
