I am in the Brisbane / Ipswich area and chasing a good DeVille front drivers door trim in blue and to suit electric windows. I am after a good one that I would rather see then have posted (unless you can supply good pictures and honest postage cost) as I have been burnt that many times by pricks on ebay and interstate wreckers. Last one I received had sun damage on the top even though it was described as good but the seller said that was gods fault and they were all like that plus he removed the electric central locking switches from the arm rests (They came with them) because he obviously didn't get the price he really wanted but said they must have got lost in the post. I reckon I could write a book on my experience with pricks on ebay......bring back quality swap meets

Here here!

Ebay has all but destroyed the traditional swap meet.

How many times do you see idiot sellers with ridiculous prices try to justify them by saying "but there was one on ebay for that much" (which undoubtedly didn't sell anyway).

I've got a standard reply now "Instead of lugging it all the way out to a swap meet, why didn't you leave the f^%king thing at home & sell it on ebay then? Or are you too f&^king stupid to work out how?"

Usually results in a blank stare....
Cheers,

Mick

I whip out my iPhone and fire up the ebay app then ask them "Which one? This one that's been listed 4 times with no bids or this NOS one still in the original packet which hasn't sold yet at the Buy It Now price of $20 less than you're asking for your secondhand one."

How I miss my 4.00 Sunday mornings going to swap meets, travelling 10 klm or 100 klm to some school ground, park or spare allotment, arriving to be greeted by other small groups of blurry eyed knuckle heads and the welcoming smell of hamburgers and fried onions sitting on the still chill of the morning air accompanied by the aroma of the alluring bacon frying on the barbie of some regular seller who I think used it more of a way to draw sleep deprived punters to his wares then as a simple breakfast. I miss walking into the grounds just as the sun was about to rise allowing just enough light (That's if you didn't think to bring a torch) to let you see what the seller had laid out on their tarp only to see that elusive part you have been chasing for that project....obsession hidden away in the shed where you have been spending every weekend for the last three, four..... s*** has it really been six years!!!! Some blokes go fishing and bring home a bounty of fish and call it a good morning, I use to go to swap meets, where I would meet up with car nut mates, always the regulars ready for a chat, definitely get a burgar or if lucky enough some of that bacon and then if I came home with the buy of the century in the back of the ute then that is what I use to call a good morning. Now I sit a desk, scroll through endless pages of overpriced crap that is all in fantastic condition according to the seller and always is described as for a GTS or GT even though it is only a door or a sunvisor or something that was fitted to the whole range of models but this they beleive allows them to mark up the price a further 60 % and then some brainless cashed up dill bidder pays the money........or so you are lead to believe only to see the same item re listed a week or so later, did I say dill bidder or was that shill. mmmmmmmebay gotta love it.
