Hi all - Can anyone tell me if Parchment is diff in colour to Chamois? I'm chasing some internal arm rests for my coupe which is getting re-trimmed in original Parchment but have only found decent Chamois arm rests for sale. Does anyone know if they differ in colour? They look similar in colour on e-bay etc. Thx H

Chamois is slightly darker while parchment has a more yellowed texture. They are different and when compared side by side you can tell the difference. You can however get your existing armrests re-coloured. One of the dash repair places in brisbane ( can't think who off the top of my head but if you do a google you'll find them ) restore and recolour the arm rests. Any of the vinyl/leather repair places should also be able to re-dye any arm rests you've got to a parchment colour. google vinyl repairers and you should find a bucket load of them. hope that helps.

Hey Paul - always a pleasure hearing from you.

Your knowledge on our cars should not only be documented but recognised by the Ford community to say the least! Cheers mate
n.b.Almost there with my red XBGS Coupe. Door trims are in ADEL getting re-trimmed and have selected the leather for the seats from NSW Leather Co. (not exactly the same as Parchment but close enough) - Based on what you explained, I will send my existing armrests to my Trimmers in ADEL to colour match just be sure - Thx again & Cheers Harry

Parchment is definitely different to chamois as paul said

Any competent trimmer can redye your arm rest to factory correct colour

Chamois is a glorious milky, creamy custard type colour.

If you ask me it is the best colour in the 70s product range. However I am a bit biased as I have that trim in my Landau.......

The Landau interior is my all time favourite of just about any car interior made in this country. those photos are wonderful. Chamois and parchment both look amazing in the Landaus. The amount of Landaus I saw vinyl sprayed black inside during the horrid 80s and early 90s still makes me weep. If only I could win the lotto and get me one. I think
the only thing I'd change in the Landau would be the clock in the cluster but seeing as I'm getting old and the eyesight is fading maybe a dirty big clock is more practical than a tacho. Might grovel a bit and ask for some more photos pretty please.

Harry,
glad to hear your coupe is coming along. You must be itching to see her finished. Look forward to seeing some photos of the finished results. Glad you picked leather for the seats :)

Thx guys for your replies....much appreciated.

I've two friends with Landau's - one completely restored (white on white leather - looks amazing) and the other is about to start (Deep Ivy on black leather)...and yes have been restoring mine since 2007 and almost there - all I've got to so now are the seats /carpet (another 2 months there) and integrated (in dash) a/c which needs to installed (not looking forward to that! - condensor / pump are getting re-coed as we speak - hoping to have it completed by late Spring - fingers crossed. Cheers H

Great color pick you got there.
Car leasing is the cheaper way to get a car without long term commitment.
