HK GTS 307 4-sp were relatively common, I've owned two.

It appears some motoring journos in various publications, over the years have stated the 'fact' that GM-H never built an HK 307 manual. It stems from the original HK (pre-Monaro) sales brochure which says the 307 had the Powerglide as the only transmission available. This changed with the release of the Monaro with its Saginaw 4-sp box.

Some myths however, live on !!

From the pics it is a post 8/68 build, so hard to deliver before manufacture.

As Jack siad, interesting stuff on it.

Hi, When they were new they were plentiful on the roads. I had a Burgundy with Parchment example and mates had other colours/trim. They were simply the V8 GTS with manual and thinking back were more common than automatic ones. The 327 cars stood out from the crowd as did the automatic V8 cars as we saw the autos as girls cars.

It is now common knowledge that about 9000 HK GTS were built so perhaps 3000 were V8 cars and from what I can recall maybe 2000 were manual. The 6 was very common at the time and if 6000 were built then all this seems about right. Some of the numbers guys would know better.

The body tag would be in the centre of the firewall if it was a pre 8/68.
