hi i have changed a few water pumps on these and ve,s never usally have a problem but saying that the last one took ages to open the thermostat, i was road testing and have to find a servo to top it up, it had 148,000 km on it after that no problem, changing the thermostat is a cold only job and top half of the intake off so im told may be dr T done one. i dont really like these engine there not as hardy as the old buick engine i.e dont miss oil changes, 3 timing chains surely that could of used one if they thought about it and the thermostat down the back, didnt thet learn from vn series one??? i some how think this engine was forced upon holden from mum(GM) here build this for us and use it. i think it will cost them a lot of friends over the years to come.
