I was reading the thread on repo guards and thought I would answer a comment without hijacking the thread.

I race an EH in Appendix J in NSW. CAMS records the body # of the car in the log book they supply for the car. For Appendix J, the car doesn't have to have a competition history, but the type of car must have been raced in the period. In Groups A & C the cars must be genuine. As HK's etc were made from 68 to 71 they would be in class Nc, which puts them up against XU1s, GTs, Mustangs, Comaros, etc. I can think of two HT Monaros running in Appendix J off hand. A HK sedan would have to run a 307, whereas a HK Monaro would be able to run the 327. A 350 in a HK would be a huge no-no.

We do have a guy goung round in a genuine HQ racer. He has to be in Nc because of the year it was made. As these cars are 202 powered, he is completely outclassed, but that is immaterial to him. He has a ball driving the car. On the few occasions we have raced together we have loads of fun. He has a lot more experience than me, he catches me in the corners and I can leave him on the straights. He does have disc brakes, I don't.

I don't think there would be a problem using a new body. As long as the car meets all the requirements of the category.

Colin.
