Good evening all, just wondering what the general opinion is on the possible worth of an XA Falcon 500 Hardtop 6 cyl auto. Bronze Wine (i think) in colour with vinal roof. Interior is similar to saddle. It is in 100% original condition. Been garaged all its life. Paint is original and in unbelievable nick. Still in the original owners garage. And its done just over 100k k's.

Hard to get an idea as you don't see many of these changing hands these days. The owner isn't ready to sell yet anyway but was wondering what all the Ford fans would think.

Any opinions welcomed.

Thanks
Hayden

Greetings Haydn
Prices have come off a little bit in the last 12-18 mths from the crazy 2008 peak
Having said that, an immaculate XA Coupe with a 6 cylinder engine I would put at approx $18-$20k. A similar car but with a 302 v8 sold for $22k a few months back
The colour and engien combination is not that inspiring. The value is in the clean rust free shell........

Thanks for your thoughts George,

I reckon your spot on. Other than being a rust and damage free body its the originality that does it for me. The owner has all the purchase papers etc too. I'm not too sure how many of these coupe / 6cyl were made anyway. Could be a reasonably rare combination.

There were actually quite a lot of 6cyl coupes made in the xa and xb. The thing is most were turned into 8s ( like I did with mine ) so an original unmolested coupe is as rare as rocking horse poo. If the car is as good as you say and you get it, leave it as is.

Hi Paul,

I agree that it would be quite rare as far as the number of original cars that still exist are concerend.

The temptaion to drop a big motor in would be too much for some but I am happy with originality.

If I'm lucky enough to get the opportunity to purchase it I will post some pics. But I don't think that will be for a while yet. Very interesting to get others opinions.

Kind regards
Hayden
