This is for a mate that has just purchased a 302 fastback fitted with a 600 holley and a mid 80's mustang auto with o/drive.
Whoever did the conversion in the states put in an a/market TV cable kit and clipped the end of the cable to the pivot ball on the holley carby made for a kickdown.
The cable pull ratio is up the s***e.
Does anyone here own a late model mustang with i assume a throttle body and o/drive auto trans that could measure the distance of the centre of the throttle shaft to the pivot ball/cable attachment.
I need to get this right for him before i can do the right cable adjustment and he doesn't burn out his tranny.
cheers...Mario

is it a c5 with lock up torque converter oftern confused as an overdrive or is it an AOD?

if its c5 i would ASSUME it to be the same as a c4 falcon since there the same basic box

I'll have to check the car out Bigcav.
The car arrived with a tranny leak ie pan gasket leak and my mates brother had it on the hoist and decided to replace the
gasket and he mentioned that it looked like a c4 gasket but the bolt pattern was different.
I saw the car on the weekend and they said it was slipping in drive but not as bad locked in first.
They rechecked the fluid level as it is running an a/market braided hose type tube mounted to the inner guard with the dip stick in it.
They topped it up another 1 litre and it made no difference so i said take me for a run and straight away it was slipping but the 1-2 change took ages,so i thought ok,they said it had o/drive and i went through this with my HJ coupe running the TH700R and ask if it had a TV cable hooked up.
I had a look and it did have a cable set up(with loose lock adjusting nuts)i did a rough adjustment and it was much better with bugger all slip and the 1-2 change was much better.
The TV cable pull bottoms out before full throttle so i know the ratio is not right and need that measurement.
But i will check what box it is just to make sure
