This looks like an ad to be shown to prospective migrants back in the day, was life really that free and easy then?

The credits state that it's made in 1966, but nothing newer than the EH appears to be in it.

Strap the nostalgia boots on and enjoy...

A time that was not a happy place for me. Apart from the cars that is. And the music. Thanx for the link though.

I think the reason that you only see up to EH in this vid is because back in those days, there was quite a long time between filming and final presentation.
So it is possible that it was filmed in late 1964 or early 1965.
You see the same thing in my favourite Aussie movie, the biker classic 'Stone' It is always credited as a 1974 movie but if you look carefully, the speed limit signs are in M.P.H. These were taken down and replaced by the current KM/H ones in 1973 so it clearly wasn't filmed in 1974.

there are some places in N.E. Vic that still have MPH signs, there was one on the murryvalley HWY past myrtleford & I can remember seeing them when I was a kid in the very late 70's on our way from melb to castlemain to go camping...

Hi Monaro

Agreed there were some in remoter locations that survived for many years. But 'Stone' was shot on location in Sydney mainly on the lower North Shore. The DMR (as it was then) did a pretty good job of replacing them by mid 73 in the busy parts of Sydney.
Which is why I think some of the Syndey based action shots were filmed pre-1974.
