Hey everyone, since I can't afford 2 cars and I'm after something with s few more comforts and a v8, I'm selling the hx and looking for a v8 manual around 7500. I want a ute but can't afford a vu and not too keen on vs so it looks like I'll be in a vt or maybe vx. What are some things I should look for with the 5 litre and 5.7's?

VT V8 manual is a Getrag and they are not that good of a box. VTII are 6 speed and better. My mate bought a VT V8 manual recently for $1500 unreg, it is a reasonable car with Simmons wheels on it. VTII and VX will be a little dearer. From memory you couldn't get a V8 Executive in VX but you could in VTII so they'll be cheaper. A car like this at a dealer you'd buy for around $8000 cash if you bargain hard enough:
