Hey I'm a chick from the inner west area of sydney that is having massive problems with my current mechanic now i have an old kingswood that is my pride and joy and I have a lovely mechanic that is very helpful and a great guy but he is just not very good at working on my car, now my partner and I have been taking cars to him for years and I not a complete blonde when it comes to cars so I really dont think he is taking me for a ride but its just everytime I take my car to him he comes back going worse than when I leave it with him, he always redoes things for free when I complaion or mention that I'm not happy and he always gives me a good price for the work he does on it but I just am at the end of my patients with it. Now if anyone can give me the name of a good mechanic in the inner west area of sydeny I would be greatly appreciative. I really feel terrible for taking my buisness elsewhere, cause all our other cars we have had no problems withbut for some reason all it has been is problems. I know its not the car cause it is in really good condition for an old car (Why do I feel like I'm cheating on my mechanic writing this post hahaha). Any help much appreciated.

Hmmm, just wondering what fuel you are putting in the old Kingswood, and if the Cylinder Head has had an up-grade with Hardened Valve seats?

Fuel and Ignition problems on older vehicles are not uncommon, the difference in running an Electronic ignition and having a Cylinder Head overhaul with todays unleaded fuels will make a huge improvement.

Dr Terry at Bebco in Auburn area. He lives and breathes later Holdens like your Kingswood (and early ones too like FJ's).

What car do you have and what are the actual problems you are having? maybe someone on here can help you out with advice and you can save yourself the trouble and money of going to a mechanic.
