Wondering at what point did the HQ range change the vinyl texture from the HT-G style to the later texture. Did it coincide with the change to amber front blinkers as well as the move to 14 digit VIN's. My feeling is that it all happened in late'72/ early '73, I wonder,

I believe vins changed around 11/72 as my SS has both early and late numbers on seperate plates which have never been off the car.
lense change was in early 73 to amber due to new laws I believe.

Hi Guys.
The 14 digit vin change was at 1/11/72.
The amber blinkers/metric speedo changes (& I believe the trim material changes) occured in early '73 when the chassis prefix changed from BHQ to CHQ (ALJ to BLJ for Torana)
