I was hunting around the forum looking for info to decode my car and some bits and pieces and I noticed it seemed to be the same people with all the info. I know it would be a LOT of work to make a sticky for each model of Holden, so I was wondering if anyone knew of a book or PDF that has this info. I have a connection with a huge assortment of 253/308 engines, gear boxes, carbs, diffs etc and instead of me hassling the forum for info (for instance)on the 7 308 trimatic engines or the piles of heads he has I was thinking there has to be something outside of Holden itself.

I doubt it would be a forum killer, but I think a few people would be intersted in this info when buying parts etc.

Cheers

This may be useful in general dating of things.

I also have more general date coding related pictures here

There is also ID tag decoding information here on our HQ SS picture collection site
http://s300.photobucket....s%20Book%20Information/

I am not sure if this will be of any help to you as well but I have a fair few pictures here
http://gallery.oldholden.com/HQ_SS/Tech/
showing various parts and what they are from.
I have a few other things around the place as well but it depends just what exactly you do need
information on.

Not mine but this is always useful to ID just what a engine is from as well.

If you need something more specific feel free to contact me at HQSS@oldholden Dot com

Paul your SS site is awesome, been about a year since I've been there though. These are all great for info. I was'nt in need of any specific make and model at this stage (bar info on my 74 Q) I just thought there might be something out there to help out anyone who needs info on the spot when buying something etc. Last couple of years I've left the HQ in the garage and been in the 4wd world, I have forgotten a lot since 2009 (damn memory erasing beer!!!) might just have to search these sites to refresh my memory when sorting out parts.

Cheers
