could someone help me decode this casting number on my 308?? block.
its 10G3. the engine number, appears to be late 70,s. qt982433.
my thinking is the block was cast on 10th july 1973. but i need experience here !!!!! lol. |

10G3 is 10/7/73 but QT982433 is around 8-10/78. So my guess is the cast code is 10G8.
Anyone know when the Holden V8's changed from US date codes to Aussie style? |

hey hk1837, the casting number is raised lettering , with what looks like a screw head at each end. i will get a photo and attempt to upload it, of both eng and casting numbers. i suspect the engine number has been re stamped..as the casting number is definately 10G3. |

i think it was about jun 1973 we got aussie date code.
